Explore our range of ergonomic ratchet straps

Essential for professionals in the agricultural, building & construction industries, an ergonomic ratchet strap can help to reduce strain on your body throughout a long, hard day of securing and transporting heavy equipment, machinery, and other goods.

Also referred to as ‘ergo’ or ‘pull-down’ ratchet straps, designed with an alternative technique to tying down cargo and loads. Instead of pushing the ratchet handle up when tightening the ratchet, you pull down the handle. Our huge range of ergonomic ratchet straps can be purchased in varying lengths and colours to meet your load binding requirements.

Composed of 5,000kg ratchet straps, our huge selection of ergonomic straps can be used for a variety of purposes, including the safe and secure fastening of construction materials, recreational vehicles, and other forms of heavy equipment ready for transportation.

A reliable and adjustable solution, ergonomic ratchet straps are a more suitable alternative to rope. Manufactured from 100% high strength polyester material, all the pull-down ratchet straps on our site conforms to the current European standard, EN 12195-2-2001, and have full certification.

Ergonomic ratchet strap FAQs

What is an ergonomic ratchet strap?

The main difference between a typical ratchet strap and an ergonomic ratchet strap is the handle and mechanism used to tighten the strap. With a standard ratchet strap, the user needs to crank the ratchet lever, pulling it back and forth until the strap is taut.

Ergonomic ratchet straps, however, have longer handles which simply need to be pulled down to secure heavy items, hence their alternative name – ‘pull-down’ ratchets.

What are the benefits of ergonomic ratchet straps?

The biggest benefit of opting for an ergonomic ratchet strap over the traditional alternative is the improved user experience. Thanks to the pull-down mechanism, the user needs to expel less force to secure the ratchet, resulting in reduced strain on the user’s arms and back.

What is the lashing capacity of 5,000kg ergonomic ratchet straps?

Just like the typical 5,000kg ratchet straps, ergonomic ratchet straps with a 5,000kg break force (the maximum force a ratchet strap can withstand before failing) will have a lashing capacity (the maximum force that can be safely exerted on a ratchet strap) of 2500daN (kg).
